The Hidden Cameras from Baba's July 24.09
At the end of the summer in 2005, I met a boy and we exchanged mix cd's. I remember trying to keep it upbeat as to not come off like a corny, desperate loser. One of the songs on the mix ended up being "In the Union of Wine" by the Hidden Cameras. I know, I know, this story sounds like a bad cliche, but it happened! I spent forever listening to Mississauga Goddamn in hopes I would pick a song that didn't give off a pungent scent of I LIKE YOU.

Anyway, This is a band that I have not followed closely but picked up every time the mood was right. Them playing at my favourite little rock bar in Charlottetown is seriously mind blowing to me, and I was glad I got to witness what I could. I waited in line for what seemed like forever, and I decided to cut all loyalty and decency to my friends and other folks waiting to try to get in there. It eventually happened and I pushed my heart to the front stage and listened on. I didn't capture much, as I felt I was in such a happy daze. Everyone was having so much fun - even the ampersand kids (cafeampersand.blogspot.com) were all dressed as animals! I left feeling complete, happy and hoped my friends weren't mad that I pushed past them at the door.
