Dress
Up as an Animal July 6.07

I
have to admit my favourite type of show is a themed show. Add
five rad bands playing to a boatload of kids in the smallest room
imaginable and you're sure to have a really fun time and lasting
memories to boot.
This
was the situation on July 6th, 2007 at 306. The house, then occupied
by my friends Laura & Kate was a wonderful little creation.
The living room where we had the shows was so cozy that it barely
fit the bands themselves. Regardless, we packed that little room
on a number of occasions throughout the summer.
This
was an animal themed house show; you'll have to scroll through
the photos and decide which band had the best and most creative
costume. Bad wiring compelled the bands to keep their masks on
as feedback shocks from microphones transformed the room into
an electrical storm.
This
was the first time I was able to both see and book Halifax's Play
Guitar. On this night, dressed in their their eagle, cariboo,
and feline cloaks they became one of my favourite bands. This
show ranks high in my favourite shows ever in Charlottetown.
